A comparative, sociotechnical design perspective on Responsible Innovation: multidisciplinary research and education on digitized energy and Automated Vehicles

This study develops a comparative, sociotechnical design perspective for interdisciplinary teams of social scientists and computer scientists. Sociotechnical refers to identifying both technical governance challenges understanding the ways in which two types problems affect define each other. Approaching as an open-ended, iterative process, triple comparative problem finding solutions: across technological systems (the smart grid connected automated vehicles), three areas societal implication values (safety, equity, privacy), continents (North America Europe with focus on U.S. Germany).
